How To Choose the Right Fittings For Your Front Door |

Wander up and down your street and neighbouring streets of similar houses. Someone's bound to have the original fittings. Make notes - think about proportions, what room you have, and whether you want the whole sherbang - knocker, knob, letterplate or whether a letterplate with integral knocker/pull would look better.
If you have a large door you can be a little bolder and go for one of our imposing centre pulls. However, small doors can still be individual with a characterful knocker - they come in a variety of styles and sizes. Most of our fittings have either 'Edwardian', 'Victorian' or 'Georgian' within the description so do a search for the period of your house. The ironwork is generally suited to older cottages and looks great on plank doors though its also a popular style for those who require something more understated than brass. |
