These large beehive keyhole covers in ebonised wood are exact copies of the Victorian originals. Made using African Hardwood with a ebonised finish applied. These escutcheons have small blemishes that add to the authentic antique appearance and has made it virtually indistinguishable from the original antique. The term ‘Beehive' refers to the repeat reeded detailing. Beehive became a highly popular design born in the Regency era and used heavily throughout the Victorian period and into the early 20th Century.
Was a fairly close match to existing, and fills a gap nicely thanks.
Good reproduction hardware-well made and look like the original escutcheons that were on our doors.
