W&S Window Displays
Botanics and Ceramics – Window Display
The inspiration for our new window display all started when Sarah and Sian sourced a new range of pop up cards including a beautiful delicate greenhouse card:
With botanical themes in illustration remaining popular with many of our stationary designers and customers we decided to use the greenhouse card as a basis of our next display.
The next step was to put our minds to the construction of the greenhouse and paint colours. As has become customary in window display planning, with a bold colour palette in mind, we sifted through our piles of paint card swatches and found a dark blue and salmon pink for the backdrop and walls.
Some measuring and sketches later we started to create the greenhouse from wooden battens which we then painted white. Fran took up the task of putting the structure together within the window behind the illustrated greenhouse front painted by Rhianna (whose cards also feature in the display and are sold in-store – @rhianna_fowler.)
Meanwhile Sian and Laura had been making cut out card leaves of lush green to pop against the salmon pink.
To the side we tried to reflect something of the essence of a beautiful mood board put together by Leah, referencing the hexagonal shapes of honeycombs by displaying a collection of our brass mirrors, frames and wall planters.
By contrast to the greenhouse we decided to keep a smaller window clean and simple to let a selection of our elegant muted ceramics do the talking.
We added a touch of greenery and some textiles to complete the display.
