USEFUL TIPS FOR OUR PRODUCTS

Distressed antique brass collection

Distressed Antique Brass Maintenance

A superior quality range made in the UK – distressed antique brass products are hand finished and so may vary slightly in appearance. Normal wear and handling will highlight the raised areas to reveal the solid brass below, all adding to the aged appearance of the product.

To maintain distressed antique brass simply apply a light coating of beeswax polish if required. Never use cleaning agents as this will remove the applied aged finish. However as the product beneath the ‘finish’ is crafted from solid brass, any scratches that reveal the brass will tarnish over time and so dull down enhancing the authentic antique look.

Screws are solid brass (a reasonably soft metal) so use a pilot screw to make the hole so that minimal pressure is put on the screws themselves.
