Our Team

We are a friendly and knowledgeable bunch. Here’s a little more about the team…

I’m Sarah, founder of W&S and mum to two little girls, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I have a degree in Illustration. My degree has helped me to run the business ‘creatively’ and good design is at the heart of everything we do. I do all the buying, look after social media and oversee the website. But I also happen to love speed-packing when needed!

Laura, a graphic design graduate and mummy, helps me to manage the team. She’s always smiling, calm and collected and is a great problem solver.  She is working on improving the overall usability of the website and enjoys looking at new ways of improving the brand. Of course she has plenty of valuable creative input too enjoying creating and running the installation of the window displays and blog posts.

Hazel is calm, friendly, adaptable and methodical. She’s hopped into helping me manage the business during the strange times of lockdown when staff ‘at work’ was drastically reduced. She’ll be stepping into my management team whilst Laura and Fliss are on maternity leave. Previously an allrounder who understands all of our processes and our brand ethos, Hazel’s clever resolve has meant that she’s been able to easily transition to a role with more responsibility. She’s also been busy over the last few months creating our instagram Sale page.

Felicity (currently on maternity leave) is another talented Textiles Graduate and assists with the maintaining of the website along with implementing SEO. Fliss provides a fountain of inspiration for our many photo shoots and window displays. She’s also the DIY queen embarking on many drill and hacksaw related tasks. If you have technical issues with products you may speak to her and she’s also the person we turn to when our computer systems fail!

Freya is the super friendly and unflappable front of house Customer Service person you are most likely talk to when calling the office to place an order. She has fantastic product knowledge and is keenly organised. She cleverly maintains our reputation for excellent customer service by her continued effort to help and resolve!. In her spare time she enjoys studying on her yoga course.

Rhianna is a talented illustrator having graduated from Falmouth University a few years ago and sells her cards in the shop. Previously found in our shop she now helps Freya take care of customer service. She’s super organised but also creative so has produced some beautiful signage for the store. On another note, should we ever need earring recommendations, Rhianna will have plenty of ideas on instagram.

Nick is our stock coordinator dealing with stock and deliveries and liaising with our suppliers. He calmly scales our three flights of stairs dozens of times a day negotiating deliveries coming in and going out. Nick loves surfing and cooking and he’s also super knowledgeable about lighting, enjoying nothing more than trawling through vintage lighting at salvage yards.

Fran – I believe this lovely lady is genuinely unflappable. One day she will be working her way up in the RAF but until then we are hanging onto her and utilising her skills in being fantastic at all tasks including packing, customer service, processing and maintaining the shop!

Hayley is our lovely full time Senior Sales Assistant in the shop and makes sure the it looks amazing, is ever changing, creates new displays on a daily basis, keeping the shop clean and tidy and generally making sure customers always feel very well looked after!

Leila – Skilled in lots of areas, Leila has a calm demeanour which puts us all at ease. She works in store helping customers, creating displays as well as over in the offices packing parcels or processing orders. Leila always introducing me to interesting: whether its perfect linen dresses from Lithuania, fair-trade coffee, amazing books or yummy recipes!

Ellie – Not only does Ellie make us laugh all day long, she brings a sense of ‘try not to worry’ to the team when things get tricky. Always keen to help wherever needed and enthusiastically helps to meet deadlines. We also call her our wordsmith as she writes beautifully in every sense of the word. She’ll be taking on the role dealing with press soon too. On another note should anyone need a book recommendation, she’s our go-to!

Dawn is on maternity leave too but we are excited to have her back soon when she’ll have to have her photo taken for this page 🙂
