Understanding Our Butler Bell

Our beautiful Butler Bell is from the late Georgian Period, around 1820-1830. A replica was taken and recreated by our supplier. We were excited to see that a TV production company featured this reproduction bell in the credits to Downton Abbey! (although the backplate was altered slightly).
The bell, decorative centre, pull bar and pulleys are cast in solid Brass (and are Nickel plated on the aged Nickel versions). Both the Brass and Nickel have been aged to give an authentic appearance and enhance the detail in the casting. Mounted on a solid oak backplate with a traditional black steel spring.

Each bell comes with pulley wheel for supporting cord, a length of cord and appropriate fixings. Fitting instructions are supplied in the box.
