Willow & Stone supplies quality authentic products at fair prices. In addition, this site features a wealth of useful ‘how to’ guides, and our blog offers inspirational articles and other snippets we think you might find interesting; be it our favourite places, inspiring products, projects and other websites.
Willow & Stone don’t claim to be ‘cheapest online’ though we endeavour to remain very competitive, and offer discounts to trade. We are driven by excellent customer service and always strive to maintain our reputation as being super friendly, knowledgable and helpful. We remain small enough to take pride in each sale and customer interaction, yet agile enough to be able to fulfil large orders from developers and specifiers. In a world where online buying accounts for so much, we have held our own for 16 years, by offering accessible information, high quality products, well packaged by our small team who genuinely care – from your very first visit to after sales care a year or more later. We sell products we love, and we genuinely love what we do.
From 2000 I worked for LASSCO (London Architectural Salvage & Supply Company). We were one of the first old school antique emporiums to have a website, and it was beautiful. I had the pleasure of populating it, writing the text, adding products and doing the photography for it. I waved goodbye to LASSCO after 5 fulfilling years in order to escape the City and return to Cornwall (where I’d studied BA Illustration a few years earlier) and create my own online store. My initial goal was simple. I wanted to sell quality Period Ironmongery products to ordinary people who were taking on extraordinary projects restoring their beloved homes. I wanted to make a living in Cornwall and one day offer interesting employment to staff who I could enjoy a cup of tea with, bounce ideas off and obsess over the detail of an old door knob with.
With the help of my husband (now a full-time artist), the Willow & Stone website took off quickly – 18 years ago there was little online competition. A year later, after plenty of set-backs, we opened our first shop in a pretty corner off Falmouth’s harbour, 3 years later a second shop followed as we embraced unusual stationery, cards and prints. We quickly outgrew these premises and in 2012 moved to our current location up the road, a large double fronted store with everything housed under one roof. Eventually our website moved into offices directly over the road and finally we have some space to grow and be creative on a street and within a community that we love and feel very much a part of.
Whilst we now sell a large range of products our roots remain firmly in Period Ironmongery and our offering on this site showcases the best of that. We send our products all around the World on a daily basis and are proud to have some of our finest ironmongery and door knobs gracing the homes of our customers in the USA, Canada, Australia, Africa, Japan and just about the whole of Europe!
