A traditional pair of black ceramic door knobs with delicate petal edged (lacquered) brass roseplates. Ceramic handles were popular for almost a century, first appearing around 1830. These handles were widely used in Victorian homes upstairs, in servant quarters and in less grand properties due to being more affordable than brass. These handles are still very popular today due to their high quality, affordability and that they are still made in the UK.
