A pair of stunning solid ebony door knobs in a smooth bun shaped design with two matching aged brass petal edged rose plates. The deep, rich tone of the ebony makes these handles particularity attractive, while the bun design makes them very comfortable to hold and turn. Ebony is a very hard and heavy wood which wears well, making it an excellent choice for door handles.

  • Knob diameter: 55mm
  • Backplate diameter: 62mm
  • Projection: 60mm
  • Made from solid ebony with a solid brass backplate
  • Slight nicks in the wood are all part of the process
  • The aged finish on the roseplates gives a slightly satin appearance
  • Backplates are unlacquered brass so will continue to darken over time
  • Suitable for use with rim or mortise locks
  • These handles are unsprung so need to be used with a heavily sprung mortise or rim latch
  • Not suitable for external use
  • Set comprises of two handles complete with removable backplates, spindle and screws

Very good quality with good heavy brass fittings. I always buy my door furniture from willow and stone because of its quality, care in packing and swift delivery. It is worth calling to ask if you cannot see what you want, due to the complex nature of their site, such as brass butt hinges, also of first rate quality.

I recently had my doors dipped and stripped. Most of the original ebony doorknobs and brass surrounds survived, but two had to be replaced. Willow & Stone were able to supply a near-exact match. Very pleased.
